James DiCarlo has a Bachelors of Arts degree in History from Fordham University. He received his Juris Doctorate from Roger Williams School of Law in 2009. While at Roger Williams School of Law, he participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic.

James was admitted to practice law in the state of New York in 2010. He is a member of the New York Bar Association and the Suffolk County Bar Association.

Before joining Speyer & Perlberg, James practiced per diem working on bankruptcy claw-back cases.

First Party:
  • Worked on defense claim for transformer fire in The Bronx.
  • Investigation of suspicious claim for loss of personal property that allegedly went missing during the insured's cocktail party with friends and neighbors.
  • Legal research and drafting of legal opinions on first party coverage questions regarding classification of "property not covered" under ISO commercial coverage form.
Subrogation:
  • Action against retail company for failure to clean exhaust ducts resulting in fire.
  • Legal research and supervise the prevention of spoliation of evidence in a water damage loss to Westchester Condominium.
  • Subrogation claim against upstairs neighbor of insured whose construction activities caused a partial ceiling collapse
