Marie E. Garelle, Esq.


Marie Garelle obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1995. In 2001, Marie obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from Hofstra University School of Law.

Marie was admitted to practice law in the State of New York in 2002. She also is admitted to practice law in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

Prior to joining Speyer & Perlberg, LLP, Marie handled criminal actions from arraignment through trial as a member of the Suffolk County Legal Aid Society from 2002 through 2006.

Marie joined Speyer & Perlberg, LLP in 2007. Her practice focuses on first-party insurance property damage claims, third-party insurance defense litigation, the prosecution of subrogation lawsuits on behalf of insurance companies, and commercial litigation. During her time with Speyer & Perlberg, LLP, Marie has handled cases involving damages caused by fires, gas explosions, construction at adjacent premises, and alleged contractor negligence. She also investigates property damage claims, analyzes insurance policies and applicable insurance law, and drafts insurance coverage opinions to insurers.
